Parastoo was born in Iran and studied graphic design there before moving to the UK in 1977, she now lives in the heart of Wiltshire.
The granddaughter of a celebrated Iranian artist, she has drawn much inspiration from her childhood memories of his studio and paintings.
A balance of evocative landscapes and elegant still life pieces, Parastoo’s paintings are powerful expressions of feeling and imagination. As she has said: ‘It is my consciousness and my feelings that give life to my paintings’. This sense of emotive creativity is clearly conveyed through her loose and expressive brush strokes.
"Where I live is a beautiful and engaging part of the world and painting nature not only has given me the chance to practice the enviable career as painter, it has taught me so much about life and how resilient nature is."
Parastoo has exhibited in a number of galleries in the UK, and her work can be found in private collections around the world.
